Instructional design is where the individual threads of my experience are woven together.

A woman with shoulder-length hair standing on a bridge or walkway with a metal structure, wearing a long-sleeve, high-neck crop top and high-waisted pants, looking at the camera with her hand on her hip.

For more than a decade, I balanced 3 jobs: full-time K-8 Waldorf teacher, sign painter, and summer barista--each role fulfilling an intellectual, creative, and community-driven need in my soul.

In 2021, my career took a surprising but welcome turn when I accepted a role as Training Manager for a specialty coffee collective, blending my teaching expertise with my knowledge of retail coffee sales.

As the company rapidly expanded nationwide, so did the scope of my corporate training work. While I missed the privilege of shaping young minds, I discovered that my creativity translated naturally into designing engaging learning experiences for adult learners across the organization.

My passion for instructional design and eLearning grew as I intentionally wove visual design back into my work in L&D. Today, I strive to create training that is visually compelling, builds meaningful connection, and develops skill through intentional practice. In other words, I design learning for the head, heart, and hands.

Outside of my work as a learning experience designer, I still enjoy drinking a great cup of coffee, painting signs part time, rollerskating, dancing, and staying up past my bedtime reading books.
